The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency claimed it is alarmed with regards to the higher amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area regularly. The company point produced for intervention encounters more info a substantial inflow of likely beneficiaries, that makes it difficult with the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to help the servicing of all buyers and boost access to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
